4.“I will multiply your descendants as the stars of heaven, and will give your descendants all these lands; and by your descendants, all the nations of the earth shall be blessed;

5. because Abraham obeyed Me and kept My charge, My commandments, My statutes, and My laws.” If you asked ten people what the definition of success was, no doubt you would get ten different answers.

There are probably just as many definitions, ideas, and opinions about what success is as there are people in the world today.

John D. Rockefeller, Jr. said that success is doing common things uncommonly well.

So with all these tips and prayers to the lord almighty, prosperity is certain even in the hard times.

1. Set the Right Goal.

Setting the right goal will help Getting through hard times. Successful people know that if you want to achieve anything of value, you have to set goals. If we don’t know where we want to go, we will never get there!

Perhaps you are about to graduate from high school and have a particular career in mind? Or maybe you are thinking about a career change? Learn all you can about the job you have in mind. And ask God to guide you.

Remember Jesus’ wonderful promise: “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For whoever asks receives; and whoever seeks finds; and whoever there knock and the door will be opened “(Matthew 7: 7-8).

2. Training and Preparation.

What knowledge do you need to acquire in order to achieve your goal? What preparations do you need to make? If you choose a profession as a craftsman, you have to work as an apprentice before you can be a journeyman.

Many professions today also require a degree, if not a degree. More than ever before, we need to constantly expand our knowledge to keep up with our goals.

As God said to the prophet Daniel with reference to the end times: “And you, Daniel, keep the words secret and seal the book until the time of the end! Many will roam about searching, and knowledge will increase” (Daniel 12: 4; rev. Elberfeld Bible).

3. Maintain Health.

How healthy are you? Do you have enough energy to get through hard work? Are you healthy enough to reach your goal? Nowadays even our surroundings can be harmful to our health.

We have to live with pollution in the 21st century. We have polluted our air, polluted our water, and polluted our food. Finding unpolluted food and safe drinking water may be difficult, but we should try our best.

Perhaps you can consider creating your own vegetable patch. A continuous diet of fast food and foods rich in fat and high in sugar is not the diet God intended for man.

In addition to good nutrition, regular physical activity is also important. The apostle Paul said to the evangelist Timothy: “For physical exercise is of little use; but piety is useful for all things and has the promise of this life and of the future” (1 Timothy 4: 8).

4. Encourage Yourself.

Mr. Herbert W. Armstrong called this a law of paramount importance. He wrote: “You will always find that the general manager of any growing, successful organization is full of drive and energy.

He is constantly spurring himself on. Gets himself going but also pulls those subordinates with him, who otherwise often do slow and careless “( The Seven Laws of Success, 1969, p. 51).

Yes, we need to encourage ourselves to move forward.

The Bible gives a vivid example: “Go to the ant, you lazy one, see what it does and learn from it! Even if it has no prince, captain, or master, it still prepares its bread in summer and gathers its food in it the harvest.

How long do you lie, lazy one! When do you want to get up from your sleep? Yes, sleep a little more, slumber a little, clasp your hands a little so that you sleep, then poverty will rush you like a robber and want like an armed man “(Proverbs 6: 6-11).

5. Be Inventive.

Mr. Armstrong called this the “Emergency Act”. Perhaps the path to your planned career or goal looks straight forward and free. But life often brings unexpected obstacles. You could suddenly find yourself facing financial problems or a health emergency. How would you react?

Whatever you do, always be sure to explore alternative options. What resources are available? Which institutions or people could help you? Of course, the first step in any serious emergency is to seek God’s help.

Think of the time when Jesus walked towards his disciples on the water. The apostle Peter also wanted to walk on the water to meet him.

So Jesus said to Peter: “Come here! And Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water and came towards Jesus. But when he saw the strong wind, he was frightened and began to sink and cried: Lord, help me!” (Matthew 14, 29-30).

6. Persistence in the Goal.

Always be persistent and persistent. During World War II, when the future looked bad for Britain, Prime Minister Winston Churchill inspired his audience to persevere.

He said the following to the students at Harrow School on October 29, 1941: “Surely that is the lesson from those ten months:  never give up, never give up, never, never, never, never – on no matter, be Big or small, significant or minor – never give in unless your beliefs and honor or reason tell you so. Never bow to violence; never bow to the seemingly overwhelming power of the enemy.

Those who respond to God’s calling find themselves in a spiritual contest to endure. Hebrews 11 is often called the “Chapter of Faith”. It describes successful men and women of faith. Chapter 12 encourages us to remember their example and look forward to the ultimate goal.

7. Seek God’s Constant Leadership.

In order to practice the first six laws successfully, we need the crucial seventh law. We must seek God’s constant guidance.

Billions of people are likely to apply some of the first six laws to some extent. But without seeking God’s constant guidance, their endeavors are nothing more than vanity.

You may ask, “How can I get God’s  constant  guidance?” The answer is that when God calls you to an understanding of his truth, you must answer and seek him.

As you read the Bible you will find many priceless promises. Isaiah admonishes us: “Seek the Lord while he is to be found; call on him while he is near.

Let the wicked leave his way and the evildoer from his thoughts and turn to the Lord, and he will have mercy on him to our God, for with him there is much forgiveness “(Isaiah 55: 6-7).

8. Be Honest Always.

That’s with yourself and with others. Your integrity is your most important asset, and it hard to establish and easy to lose.

1 Peter 3:10-12For “Whoever desires to love life and see good days, let him keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit; let him turn away from evil and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it.

For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their prayer. But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.”

9. Clare Communication Requires  Clear Thinking.

Clarify your thoughts with an outline before writing them down, and think before you speak.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work.

10. Maintain a High Say/Do Ratio.

The best way to do this is to be cautious about what you commit to. Before you commit to a deadline (when work is due), always look at your timeline (when work actually gets done) to ensure you can keep your commitment.

Ephesians 4:29Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.

11. Accept  Responsibility.

If you make a mistake, admit it, sincerely apologize then immediately take action to fix it and prevent it from happening again.

2 Thessalonians 3:6-12

Now we command you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you keep away from any brother who is walking in idleness and not in accord with the tradition that you received from us.

For you yourselves know how you ought to imitate us, because we were not idle when we were with you, nor did we eat anyone’s bread without paying for it, but with toil and labor, we worked night and day, that we might not be a burden to any of you.

It was not because we do not have that right, but to give you in ourselves an example to imitate. For even when we were with you, we would give you this command: If anyone is not willing to work, let him not eat. …

12. Listen.

The one with the most power in the room is the person who LISTENS well, then offers input that integrates others’ comments with a unique solution or perspective. Proverbs 5:1-23

My son, be attentive to my wisdom; incline your ear to my understanding, that you may keep discretion, and your lips may guard knowledge.

For the lips of a forbidden woman drip honey, and her speech is smoother than oil, but in the end, she is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a two-edged sword.

Her feet go down to death; her steps follow the path to Sheol; …

13. Work Hard.

There is no substitute for hard work – show up early, leave late, and be valuable in-between.

2 Thessalonians 3:10-12

For even when we were with you, we would give you this command: If anyone is not willing to work, let him not eat. For we hear that some among you walk in idleness, not busy at work, but busybodies.

Now, such persons, we command and encourage in the Lord Jesus Christ to do their work quietly and to earn their own living.

14. Be a Team Player.

This is a great message for someone going through a hard time.  Find ways to help others succeed.

That is the ultimate job of a leader – to shine a light on others versus yourself. Others will see the leadership potential in you if you do this well. Leadership is a role you assume, not a job title.

1 Corinthians 1:10 “Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.”

15. Take Initiative and Follow-up.

These are the bookends of success. Anticipate the needs of others. Use the 3 W’s – What, Who and When – to clarify actions each party must take after meetings or conversations in the hallway. James 1:23-25

“But the one who looks into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and perseveres, being no hearer who forgets but a doer who acts, he will be blessed in his doing.”

Conclusion.

So with the above key points and God’s grace, we can prosper in hard times. Our desire to be prosperous is so strong that we are drawn to this teaching like a moth to a flame.

The promise of prosperity wedded to spirituality, offers hope, financial help, and a relationship with God all at once. Preachers of prosperity also tell us what we want to believe.
