Weapons are instruments that can be used to achieve something. It is always very important to go to a battleground with the right weapons.
David faced Goliath with the right weapon. If David had gone to that battle with the wrong weapon he would have been killed by Goliath.
The lesson that can be learned from this is that as Christians, it is very important to know which weapon is best suited to fight a particular opponent.
Once this is known, the battle is half-won. Now, this article will provide Christians with seven spiritual weapons that they can use in spiritual warfare.
It is hoped that by the end of this article, the Holy Spirit would have opened the eyes of one or more readers and a change would be effected in that life.

The following are The Top 7 Powerful Weapons of Our Warfare for a victorious spiritual life.
1. Prayer:
Prayer is a very important weapon in the life of all believers. Prayerfulness is one of the key weapons in Christianity as emphasized by our Lord Jesus Christ.
He recognized the importance attached to praying, which was why at every stage in his life he always prayed.
In the King James Version of the Bible, the word pray was mentioned over 300 times. This goes to stress the importance that is attached to praying.
It is indeed a fact that a prayerful Christian is a powerful Christian and there is absolutely no one that can dispute that.
In the book of Luke 11:1, the Bible says “And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples”.
From this passage, two things are noticeable.
The first is that Jesus never really had a particular time or place that he prayed. The second is that he prayed ceaselessly.
No wonder in the book of 1 Thess. 2:13, the Bible says we as Christians should “pray without ceasing”.
A prayerless Christian is one who can be tossed about by the winds of the “Principalities and Powers” that we war against.
Another thing that can be learned from this passage is the fact that the disciples were eager to learn to pray.
In the world today, there are many Christians who are called Christians just because they go to church. That is never the real meaning of that word.
As Christians, we are supposed to be Christ-like. If Christ never took prayers lightly, Christians should never take prayers lightly also.

As Christians, we are supposed to be Christ-like.
If Christ never took prayers lightly, Christians should never take prayers lightly either.
2. Praise
This is a very key weapon in the hand of a believer. Praise is very important as many powerful men of God in the Bible made use of it. One very prominent example, of course, is David.
David used most of his books to praise God.
Especially in the book of Psalms, he never ceased to give God all the glory and praise.
In fact, the praise that David regularly gave to God regularly spurred God to forgive him even after committing a sin as grievous as murder.
If a Christian recognizes the power that is attached to praise and fully harnesses that power he or she is definitely bound to accomplish spiritual victories.
It was the powerful weapon of praise that saved Paul and Silas in the bible when they were in prison.
In the book of Acts 16:19, the bible says “And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.”
Paul and Silas were in prison and they were in grave danger.
Did they shiver? No! They sang praises unto God because they knew that there is an importance attached to praise.
So as believers, we should learn to realize the power that is attached to praise, and as we do things will begin to change for good.
3. Faith
This is in fact, one of the most important weapons at a Christian’s disposal. It is the most important because faith is the activator of all other weapons.
In the book of Hebrews 11:1, the bible says “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
Therefore, it is important to note that faith is very key in the life of a Christian.
Simply put, faithlessness leads to fruitlessness in the spiritual realm, and in the same manner, faithfulness leads to fruitfulness.
4. The word
This is a very important weapon in the life of any believer. In spiritual warfare, a Christian can never do without the word.
The word is very important and a good knowledge of it is required by any Christian.
In the book of 2 Timothy 2:15, the Bible says “Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth”.
It is because of the power that is attached to the Word that Paul instructed Timothy to always study the word.
A very good example can be seen in the book of Matthew 4 when Jesus was led up into the wilderness and the devil came to tempt him.
In that passage, there was spiritual warfare and the only weapon that was used was the Word.
Let us be careful as well to know the word deeply and whenever we are confused, let us ask the Lord for guidance and insight.
5. Fasting
Fasting -(among weapons of spiritual warfare against heavy oppression that prayer alone may not overcome)
“When (not, if or in case) you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face, so that it will not be obvious to men that you are fasting, but only to your Father, who is unseen; and your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you,” Matthew 6:17-18
“His disciples asked him privately, “Why could we not cast it (the demon) out” And he said to them, “This kind cannot be driven out by anything but prayer and fasting,” Mark 9:28-29, Matthew 17: 21, (KJV, ISV)
“Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to lose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke?
Is it not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter– when you see the naked, to clothe him, and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?
Then your light will break forth like the dawn, and your healing will quickly appear; then your righteousness will go before you, and the glory of the Lord will be your rear guard.
You will call, and the Lord will answer; you will cry for help, and he will say: Here am I,” Isaiah 58:6-9
Even Jesus recognized the importance of this weapon.
While he was led by the Spirit into the wilderness in the book of Matthew 4, he fasted.
In verse two of that chapter, the bible says “And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungered”.
Fasting is very important in the life of believers, in fact, Jesus made us know that there are some problems that cannot be solved unless the Christian prays and fasts.
That’s how important it is. Also, to show you how important fasting is as a weapon in Christianity, Jesus fasted for forty days and forty nights!
Now, the big question is, how many Christians today can emulate our Lord Jesus and recognize that fasting is a weapon in spiritual warfare?
The earlier we realize the importance, power, and efficacy of this weapon, the better for us.
We will be able to move spiritual mountains because of the strength gained from the self-sacrificing act of fasting.
6. Giving
Now, I know that this might sound a little off but the truth is that it is not. When you give your tithes and offerings to the Lord and give to the needy, you will automatically unlock the gates of abundance.
A Christian that does not know how to give will always lack. The lack will not only be in the physical realm, but it will also be in the spiritual realm.
He or she will lack the weapon needed to fight well and win in the spiritual realm.
This is confirmed in the book of Malachi 3:10 “Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open to you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it”.
It is a very important aspect of the Christian race. Give and it shall be given unto you and of course, when you give, you will activate the efficacy of that weapon.
7. The tongue
This is also a very important weapon for a Christian. In many cases in the bible, the inappropriate use of the tongue has led to the downfall of many.
In fact, in the case of Ananias and Sapphira, it was the inappropriate use of their tongues that led to their death.
The tongue can be used negatively in many ways, it can be used to lie, it can be used to covet, it can be used to backbite, and it can be used to gossip, and so on.
But as Christians, it should be used properly and of course to the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is advised that as a Christian, you should always decree positivity.
This is really important because the power of the tongue has been explained many times in the bible. It is advised that as a Christian, you should always decree positivity.
In the book of Proverbs 18:21, the bible says “Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof”.
Whenever you are down, whenever you feel depressed, do not speak negative things. Always praise God and declare positive things in your life.
If you continue to declare negativity, in time whatever you declare will materialize.
So, as Christians please do not at any point in time say negative words or assertions to someone or even to yourself.
Remember, the tongue has the power to kill and also to keep alive. It is a weapon, use it well.
Conclusion:
There you have it, seven weapons at a Christian’s disposal. Use these weapons well to experience spiritual victories and harness God’s best for your life.
I do hope that this article has been a blessing to you all. Stay blessed and continue to live in his glory!!!
